This time, TAXOS ACTIVE from MATIMEX has been placed in its final position. This product belongs to the ceramic group tiles being one of the four bulk materials. To compare in a better way, a bank of proofs contains this same material but without a photocatalytic treatment.
Today, Breinco’s material has been placed at IETcc (CSIC). It is called AIRCLEAN and it is the first material in the paving stones group.
The first material placed at IETcc has been the product of the LIFE EquiNOx project. This is one of the three products which belong to emulsion coatings group. In LIFE EquiNOx project, this product has been only placed over asphalt. However, in LIFE Photoscaling project, the effects over Madrid tiles will be also studied.
Once the asphalt and concrete slabs are finished, paving work can be started. The paving consists of a layer of Madrid tiles, which can be seen in most of sidewalks in the Spanish capital. This paving will be used as a bed for the definitive photocatalytic material, in the same way that the asphalt surface.
The task of placing concrete and asphalt slabs has been started today in Arganda.
First pieces of concrete has been successfully elaborated. Of course, a lot more of these are needed. The next step is placing them in the correct position in Madrid as well as in Arganda del Rey.
Once the concrete moulds are made, concrete slabs development can be started. The mixture contains gravel, sand, cement and water and it is put in the moulds.
There will be two types of basis in the banks of proofs, one of them will be made of asphalt and the other one will be made of concrete.
